I've had 2 V65s (just got the 2nd one running and will be posting a video shortly). If you don't respect the power they'll throw you like a bucking bronco. That said, there was one year, 1983, where you had a different rivalry - with the Yamaha XS1100. Known as the "excess" this inline 4 may have had more to do with inspiring the V65 than any other bike. I've also had 2 of these ridiculously fast cruisers. The XS was sick and set the bar first. Then came the VMAX... What a pity Honda only made the V65 VF1100C for 4 years. It is power on 2 wheels that literally rides like no other. Dangerously responsive if you crack it and don't know what it's going to do.

I find it embarrassing this is an issue! My understanding of the birth of the Hells Angels is of a group who wanted to ride their bikes and live by their own rules, they did not want to conform and live by the rules and laws of the society they returned to after serving their country in Vietnam! Creating a counter culture that fostered a reputation of hard living tough guys free to live however they chose to live! My question would be isn't that what a guy wearing a SOA cut is doing? Is he not living his life the way he wants too? I could understand if someone was wearing a fake cut of a real MC, now that I can understand is disrespectful! Maybe I am wrong or just don't fully grasp the issue but for me if I was a member of a real world renowned 1% MC I would be embarrassed at being labelled snowflakes!
